Juvenile or Congenital Glaucoma

Although rare in children, the signs and symptoms of glaucoma are often different from adults. Congenital glaucoma (also called infantile glaucoma) is most often diagnosed within the first year of life. Juvenile glaucoma occurs at any time during childhood. Parents are often the key to early diagnosis and treatment because they observe a problem in their child and then seek out professional advice of an ophthalmologist.
